Running Time: 115 mins / Production Year: 2010~2011
Rocky has been in high school for many years and is still unable to graduate. The school sees him a troubled and rebellious kid, which has subsequently put a strain on his relationship with his father. When Rocky was diagnosed with depression, their relationship was shattered and since then he has been living on his own and trying to get by.
One day, Rocky finds an opportunity working for Mr. Chen as a salesman. He falls in love with Mr. Chen’s mistress, May, who sparks his determination to become the top sales clerk in the company. Rocky slowly gets a taste of success but has blindly neglected his supportive team partner, Jia Yi.
A sudden turn of events instantly takes Rocky from heaven to hell; the company is accused of fraud and Mr. Chen is on the run, taking May with him. Rocky pours his heart out while trying to salvage things, but May rejects him with these harsh words – “In ten years, you’ll still be nothing.” May’s words become a driving force for Rocky to find success. His goal one day is to hold a massive 50,000 people speech in Shanghai, to prove that May was wrong.
Rocky works hard with his 4 best friends – Hao Zhe, Jia Yi, Guo Kai and Xing Yuan to create a business of their own. Each of them aids the company to success. Throughout his career and the building of his company, Rocky has never once forgotten May. He grew into the habit of calling May, even though she never once picked up.
On the eve before the Shanghai speech, the company’s hard work is about to pay off, but Rocky receives a text message from May. Despite everyone’s opposition, Rocky is determined to fly distant to find May. Rocky truly believes he can make up his time and make magic happen, while the Shanghai speech awaits him…

This generation is both the worst and the best…“THE NEXT MAGIC” is based on a true story and like the main character Rocky, I too have experienced teenage angst and a rebellious youth. I wanted to make this movie to touch people and give audiences and myself a sense of hope for the next magical moment to appear in their lives and to add a sparkle to this world.
